Every article here answers one question, with the real numbers rather than marketing ones. If something you need is missing, contact support and the answer usually ends up on this page.
- How do I clip a Twitch VOD?Paste the Twitch VOD link into OptimusClips and it downloads the recording, watches it, and returns vertical clips with captions. No Twitch account connection is needed and nothing is installed.
- How do I clip a YouTube video?Paste the YouTube URL into OptimusClips. It pulls the video, watches every second with a vision model, and returns the moments worth posting as captioned vertical clips.
- How do I clip a Kick stream?Kick VOD links are supported the same way as Twitch and YouTube: paste the URL and OptimusClips handles the download and the clipping.
- How long does AI clipping take?Roughly the runtime of the source video plus some overhead. A 30-minute VOD takes around half an hour. This is slower than transcript-only tools, and it is the direct cost of watching the footage instead of reading it.
- How many clips will I get from my video? As many as the video earns. A 10-minute video typically returns around three. The count is never a quota you are spending down, because you are billed for the minutes you upload rather than the clips that come out.
- How does billing by minutes work? You are charged for the length of the source video, rounded up to the next whole minute, with a 15-minute minimum per job. Clips produced are never charged for.
- How do I get clips without a watermark?Free exports carry a watermark. Every paid plan, starting at $18 a month, exports without one and also runs full-resolution visual analysis rather than the reduced-resolution pass the free tier uses.
- What video formats, lengths and file sizes are supported?Links from YouTube, Twitch and Kick up to 8 hours long, or direct uploads of MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV and AVI files up to 35 GB.
- How long are my clips available to download?14 days from the moment they are created, on every plan including free. Download anything you want to keep before then.
- Why did my clipping job fail? Most failures are the source being unreachable rather than anything about the clipping itself: a private or region-locked video, a deleted VOD, or a link the platform is throttling.
