How do I clip a YouTube video?
Paste the YouTube URL into OptimusClips. It pulls the video, watches every second with a vision model, and returns the moments worth posting as captioned vertical clips.
- 01
Copy the video URL
Any standard youtube.com or youtu.be link works, including one for a past live stream. Make sure you have the rights to the footage you are clipping.
- 02
Paste it in and choose your span
Paste the link on the dashboard. If the video is long, use the source-trim slider to pick the section you want. You are charged for the trimmed span, not the whole upload.
- 03
Add a prompt if you want to steer it
Optional. Describing what you are after, such as the moments where the audience reacts, biases the selection without overriding it.
- 04
Generate, then download
Processing takes roughly the runtime of the selected span. Finished clips are vertical with captions, and stay available for 14 days.
The free tier covers 60 minutes of source video a month, no card required.
