How does billing by minutes work?
You are charged for the length of the source video, rounded up to the next whole minute, with a 15-minute minimum per job. Clips produced are never charged for.
The exact rule
The charge is the source duration in minutes, rounded up, with a floor of 15. So a 2-minute video costs 15 minutes of your allowance, an 8-minute video costs 15, a 14-minute video costs 15, a 16-minute video costs 16, and a 42-minute video costs 42.
The 15-minute floor is why very short videos are not the most efficient use of an allowance. Two 5-minute videos cost 30 minutes; one 10-minute video costs 15.
It is deliberately not rounded to 15-minute blocks. Block rounding used to mean a 16-minute video cost twice what a 14-minute one did, which was a silly cliff to have in a price.
What each plan includes
Free covers 60 minutes of source video a month. Starter is $18 for 180 minutes, Creator is $30 for 330, and Studio is $60 for 720 or more. UK customers are billed the equivalent in pounds.
Creator and Studio can buy top-up minutes when an allowance runs out mid-month, without changing plan.
Trimming a long source before you generate reduces the charge, because you are billed for the span you select rather than the whole file.
